Software Engineer

Wehand is an AI research and deployment company building intelligence for logistics. We use our own models to deliver results for logistics operators: Depot-1, our intelligence model, reads an operation and understands what is driving its performance, and Operator-1, our agentic model, carries out the work that moves it to its targets.

Our customers run real operations: vans leaving depots before sunrise, drivers to pay, carriers grading them every week. What we deliver has to be right, fast and trusted by people who do not have time for anything that is not.

You will build the systems our models work through, across the whole stack. One week that means a new integration that pulls telematics, payroll or accounting data into an operation; the next it means the tools Operator-1 uses to carry out work, or the API behind them.

The hard problems are real ones: messy data from dozens of systems that each describe the same driver, van or route differently; documents whose formats change without warning; and an audience that will notice immediately if a number is wrong.

• Design and build product features end to end, from the database schema to the interface
• Build and maintain integrations that connect our models to telematics, HR, payroll, accounting, carrier and public data sources
• Shape the data model that joins people, vehicles, routes, money and performance across every source
• Turn uploaded PDFs and spreadsheets into reliable, structured data
• Work on the internal tools, services and APIs our team and models depend on
• Own reliability, performance and security for what you ship, including monitoring and fixing it when it breaks

• Several years of building and running production software, whatever your stack
• Strong TypeScript, with React on the front end and Node.js on the back end, or the ability to get there quickly
• Solid SQL and relational data modelling, ideally with PostgreSQL
• Experience integrating third-party APIs, including authentication, rate limits and data that does not match the documentation
• Care for the details users see: clear interfaces, sensible errors and fast pages
• The judgement to decide what matters and the independence to get it done
• Clear written English

• Experience in logistics, delivery, fleet or operations software
• React Native or Expo
• Experience building products on top of large language models

Remote, with a small team and real ownership. There are no layers between you and the decisions, and the work you ship reaches operators within days, not quarters.
