Operator-1

Most operations already know roughly what needs to change. The hard part is doing it, consistently, week after week, alongside everything else.

Operator-1 takes each priority Depot-1 identifies and breaks it into the work needed to deliver it. It carries out that work, tracks its effect and reports progress against the target.

Typical work includes:

• preparing driver coaching notes and following them up
• rebalancing routes, rounds and loads
• chasing defects, disputes and missing paperwork
• checking rates and lanes before loads are accepted
• scheduling vehicle checks, MOTs and services
• producing the weekly performance review

Operator-1 works to targets agreed with the operator.

Those targets are the measures the operation is already judged on, such as:

• reaching carrier tiers such as Fantastic Plus or Gold
• a higher rate per mile on freight
• lower cost per drop
• more deliveries right first time
• fewer defects, disputes and chargebacks
• drivers who stay

Every action is tied to the measure it is meant to move, so progress can be checked week by week.

Depot-1 and Operator-1 work as a pair. Depot-1 reads the operation and understands what is driving performance. Operator-1 acts on what it finds.

The outcomes of Operator-1's work return to Depot-1, so each new assessment starts from what actually worked.

Operator-1 acts within boundaries agreed with each operation.

Routine, low-impact work can run on its own. Higher-impact changes, such as altering a route plan, contacting a customer or committing spend, wait for a person to approve them.

Every action is logged with the reason it was taken, so the team can see what was done, why and what it changed.

Before Operator-1 is trusted with a new kind of work, we test it against realistic logistics scenarios.

We measure areas including:

• task completion
• accuracy of the actions taken
• knowing when to stop and ask
• effect on the target measure
• consistency across operations

Responsibility grows only as the evidence does.

Operator-1 is proprietary to Wehand and is not sold as a standalone product.
